About the Role
The Navy's Advanced Electronics and Computer Field is seeking highly skilled technicians who will undergo comprehensive training in advanced electronics, computer systems, radar, communications, and weapons fire control systems. Our technicians play a crucial role in supporting the Combat Systems department, ensuring fleet readiness for combat operations.
Your Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair critical radar, communication, and navigation equipment.
- Operate and troubleshoot fire control radars, mainframe computers, large display systems, local area networks, weapon control consoles, and automated gun systems.
- Diagnose and fix electro-mechanical systems integral to weapon systems.
- Contribute to combat systems readiness aboard various naval vessels including aircraft carriers and Aegis cruisers.
Work Environment
As a technician, you will be assigned to fleet units globally, as well as shore-based repair facilities. You'll work in diverse locations including ships, remote stations, and technical repair shops. This role demands technical precision and strong collaborative skills.

- Apprentice Technical Training - 11 weeks
- Fire Controlman Training - 16 weeks
- Electronics Technician Training - 22 weeks
The training focuses on electronics theory, radar systems, communications suites, missile and gun system ballistics, troubleshooting, and fiber optics. Further advanced training may be available after completing
