Responsible for identifying potential and existing drug-related problems and taking appropriate actions to prevent or resolve them. Work closely with the medical staff to design and implement pharmaceutical protocols. Facilitates the development and ongoing management of systems that promote desirable patient outcomes using safe, cost-effective medication therapy. Ensures the efficient utilization of resources to meet productivity and financial goals. Supports a compliant and effective 340B drug program. Coordinates specialty pharmacy services in collaboration with other pharmacy managers. Designs, implement and coordinates appropriate marketing programs to attract and maintain customer business. Inspires a shared vision, demonstrating the value of change and presenting it to co-workers with enthusiasm. Model's professional standards, having a positive attitude, and engaging co-workers to become leaders of change. The Manager-Retail Pharmacy encourages the heart of co-workers by providing both public and private recognition and connecting on a personal level with those that they serve. Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Manage and mentor pharmacy staff to deliver exceptional customer service and clinical care.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and optimize workflow for efficiency.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and Mercy leadership to support patient health outcomes.
  • Drive performance metrics, including prescription accuracy, patient satisfaction, and financial goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and/or Doctor of Pharmacy degree.
  • Licensure: Possess or be eligible for current applicable state Pharmacist Licensure(s).
  • Experience:
    • 3 years' experience in ambulatory/retail pharmacy setting.
    • 3 years' experience in management.
  • Certification/Registration: State Board of Pharmacy Medication Therapy Services Certificate where applicable.
  • Other Skills & Knowledge:
    • Clinical and management skills with a strong career interest in both areas.
    • Sound understanding of contemporary hospital pharmacy practice and comprehensive clinical competency across all age groups.
    • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills; strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to listen actively and demonstrate genuine care, warmth, and concern in interactions.
    • Strong investigative, fact-finding, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Professional judgment, attention to detail, and thorough follow-through in work performance.
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing conditions and job details.
    • Awareness of how decisions impact others and ability to manage stress inherent in leadership roles.
