Job Description
Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer

License: BLS, ARDMS or CCI-RCS
Certifications: Required certifications include BLS, ARDMS or CCI-RCS
Must-Have: Adult patient experience required; pediatric experience is a bonus
Description:
Imaging rooms: 11 in the clinic.
Travelers must live more than 100 miles away from the facility.
Permanent staff must wait one full year to return as a traveler.
Patient population: Adult experience required; pediatric experience is a bonus.
Routine scans include complete/limited, 2D measurements, strain imaging, TEE, and stress echo.
Patients seen per day: Outpatient 8; Inpatient 6-8.
Support on the unit includes a patient service representative for check-ins, RNs, and 17 additional sonographers within the department.
There is physician support from 14 cardiologists and a clinical informaticist.
Technology and equipment include EMR: EPIC.
Equipment used: PHILLIPS Cv-x and 7C.
Floating will occur from the clinic to the hospital.
Call coverage in the hospital is six nights per month with weekend coverage occurring every six to seven weeks.
Holiday expectations are considered part of the weekend/call rotation.
Approval of time off requires manager approval.
Scrub color is black.
