JOB SUMMARY

The Restaurant Host's key duties are to greet guests warmly, maintain reservations and and organized waitlist, assist with inquiries and support the front-of-house team as needed. This position will be responsible for the following:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Ensure the proper setup of dining room.
  • Promptly greet guests and patrons personally as they enter the establishment.
  • Escort guests and patrons to their table.
  • Present menus, make recommendations and take orders if necessary.
  • Ensure dining room seating is controlled and that there is server parity in number of tables.
  • Liaise between staff and guests to ensure guest needs, as well as expectations are exceeded.
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
  • Assist individuals with disabilities.
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation upon departure.
  • Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Accept to-go orders over the telephone.
  • Receive and record dining reservations on the telephone.
  • Efficiently and effectively resolve any issues to the guest's satisfaction.
  • Ensure neatness and cleanliness of stations.
  • Assist other food and beverage staff when necessary.
  • Ensure personal appearance is neat and professional.
  • Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
  • Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Bus tables and assist with processing dirty dishes if necessary.
  • Clean all front of the house areas including windows, light fixtures and entrance as assigned.
  • Fill water bottles, cut fruit, roll silverware, and complete other service-related tasks as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Prior food and beverage industry experience preferred.
  • Prior guest relations training.

  • Regularly required to stand and walk for a prolonged period of time,
  • Endure various physical movements throughout the work areas, such as lifting, reaching, extending arms over head, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.

  • Occasionally requires carrying trays of food and bus trays of dishes up to 25 lbs.
  • Must be capable of working effectively in both a hot and cold extreme temperature environment. Work surfaces may be unlevel, slippery, or unstable.
