***This position is not exclusively Cardiac/Echo imaging. Must be proficient in general sonography as well *** Location: 11800 Wilshire Blvd AND 1919 Santa Monica Blvd. Required: * Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDS) or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) * 2+ years performing echocardiographic studies * Comfortable and proficient with general sonography/ultrasound scans * BLS Preferred: * Previous outpatient experience Primary Duties and Responsibilities • Demonstrates clinical competency and technical skills as Sonographer • Uses appropriate techniques with ultrasound equipment to supply diagnostic studies based on physician request. • Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment for diagnosis • Demonstrate capability to provide high-quality imaging • Maintains knowledge about advanced imaging features to support enhanced capturing of data • Appropriately acquire echocardiographic measurements per protocol, and create digital preliminary reports for the interpreting physician, and verbally communicate preliminary findings to the interpreting physician • Ability to review a physician's order to verify the appropriateness of order being performed • Acts as a role model in providing care; assists in precepting Cardio Sonographers I. • Retrieves studies from PACS for review • Performs appropriate infection control processes • Provides an environment of care that supports patient safety • Addresses patient educational needs as pertains to requested studies • Prepares patients for the study • Supports IAC Standards and Guidelines
