Salary: Monthly Retainer $450, plus $125 per supervision, with a minimum of one office day

Job Description
The Clinical Director/Supervisor provides clinical oversight and quality assurance to unlicensed and licensed staff clinicians who provide community-based mental health care services with a focus on trauma-informed services. The supervisor is legally responsible for adherence to all applicable licensing, supervision, billing, and documentation requirements and overseeing the timeliness and quality of a staff member's clinical work. This position works with both the mental health and substance abuse client's health to identify, clinical policies, procedures and training needs

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provides Clinical oversight of all Outpatient Services
  • Availability for up to 5 supervisees minimum
  • Responsible for fulfilling the administrative and clinical requirements under COMAR 10.21.17.
  • In collaboration with the medical director, ED and the COO is responsible for ensuring staff compliance with credentialing and privileging.
  • Monitor caseloads and ensure that supervisees comply with all agency and clinical, legal and ethical practices.
  • Review and co-sign supervisees' progress notes, clinical forms and correspondences when indicated.
  • Provides ongoing, regular feedback and evaluation to clinicians on the quality and timeliness of their clinical work as well as their caseload. Also solicits feedback from clinicians regarding supervision and whether needs are being met.
  • Administrative oversight and monitoring of billable hours requirement. Provide support, training, and remediation where needed to assist supervisees in meeting the program's billing expectations and caseload requirements, charting, record keeping, documentation standards and all other quality assurance standards.
  • Communicates any concerns about quality of clinician's work to the Executive Director in a timely manner.
  • Ensures that clinicians comply with all legal and ethical practices • Signs unlicensed clinicians' progress notes, clinical forms, and correspondence as a legal representative of the organization Facilitates group supervision or case conferences as required.
  • Participates in staff meetings, administrative program meetings and trainings as required.
  • Contributes to 90 day and annual performance evaluations of clinicians
  • Supervision of Clinical Staff that includes meeting on a bi-weekly basis with social workers/counselors to supervise; assessment of clients; formulation and implementation of goal plans; day to day case management function; timely completion of required forms and paperwork. Will provide client coverage in the absence of social worker/therapist, as able.
  • Must be available for crisis consultation and management.
  • Helps clinicians identify professional development goals for the year, and collaboratively monitors progress toward those goals.
  • Other duties or projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree required in Social Work or related field
  • Five (5) years minimum of demonstrated work experience in the mental health field with two (2) years post Licensure experience in mental health programs
  • Maintain all required certifications throughout employment
  • Must possess Licensed Clinical Social Worker -LCSW-C or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor - LCPC as a clinical supervisor and have ability to obtain Mental Health Professional Person Certifications
  • Fingerprint clearance, and pass drug test, physical exam, and clear TB test
Competencies:
  • Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma, chemical dependency, dual diagnosis, domestic violence and sexually exploited minors
  • Highly skilled at supervising individual and family therapy and engaging caregivers in treatment • Demonstrated knowledge and experience with foster care and child welfare systems and services, community mental health, and/or community psychology models
  • Competent in working with psychological issues related race, ethnicity and class
  • Collaboration and team functioning - able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, able to proactively collaborate with other supervisors and program directors to ensure the best possible training for supervisees and service delivery for clients
  • Able to work effectively in an organizational setting and understand how to utilize the chain of command to resolve problems and bring program development ideas forward
  • Requires the ability to plan and perform a wide variety of duties requiring extensive knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Requires considerable judgment to work independently toward general results, devising methods, modifying or adapting standard procedures to meet different conditions, making decisions based on precedent and policy.
  • Ability to proactively collaborate with other and program directors to ensure the best possible training for supervisees and service delivery for clients.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Knowledge of or ability to learn Medicaid and private insurance reimbursement procedures and billing
  • Bilingual and multilingual skills are a plus
