Job Summary
Join our dynamic repair shop as a Diesel Engine Repair Technician We are seeking a talented individual to assist our fleet and independent trucks by diagnosing and addressing performance and functional issues. This role offers a chance to work in a team-focused environment where your skills will shine.
As a Diesel Engine Repair Technician, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of vehicle systems and components. Your responsibilities include maintaining repair shop equipment, preparing cost estimates, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for customers.
The ideal candidate excels in customer communication, clearly explaining vehicle issues and providing valuable advice.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and repair vehicles with diesel engines.
- Run diagnostic tests.
- Perform routine repairs such as oil and tire changes.
- Interpret diagnostic test results effectively.
- Write detailed inspection reports and repair plans.
- Manage and mentor a team of trainees.
- Collaborate with fellow diesel mechanics.
- Present reports and repair plans to clients for approval.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is required.
- Associate degree or completion of an automotive service technician training program is preferred.
- Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification or Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) certification is preferred.
- Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.
