The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for providing effective leadership of work and resources for the quality assurance team. Critically, this role will report to the Director of Operations and is responsible for exampling the core values and behaviors necessary to support York Precision’s continued growth and excellence. Keys to success for this role are the ability to operate as a leader, think strategically, tackle challenges head on, and develop and grow our people and processes in support of our ongoing success.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Quality Control Systems:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust quality management system in accordance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Establish, maintain, and improve quality control processes and procedures and inspection protocols.

  • Support the Director of Operations to monitor and evaluate production processes to identify areas of improvement and ensure product quality.

  • With the support the project management team, facilitate a healthy relationship with DCMA & other customers as necessary.

  • Team Leadership:

  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement among the Quality team.

  • Administer Goals & Growth process and effectively provide coaching and feedback to employees to help them develop toward YPMH’s values and behaviors.

  • Work closely with Project Management, Engineering, and other functional groups as necessary to ensure clear and effective communication and information processing.

  • Inspection and Testing:

  • Oversee the inspection and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products.

  • Ensure that quality control personnel are trained in inspection techniques and use appropriate tools and equipment.

  • Analyze and report on the results of inspections and tests as necessary.

  • Compliance and Regulatory Standards:

  • Stay updated on industry standards, regulations, and quality-related requirements.

  • Ensure the plant's operations comply with relevant quality and safety regulations.

  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and auditors during inspections and audits.

  • Root Cause Analysis and Problem Solving:

  • Investigate and resolve quality issues by identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions.

  • Lead and facilitate cross-functional teams to address quality-related problems.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance quality and efficiency.

  • Utilize tools such as Six Sigma, Lean, or other quality methodologies to drive continuous improvement efforts.

  • Supplier Quality Management:

  • Collaborate with project management and suppliers to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.

  • Conduct supplier audits and quality assessments as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.

  • 10+ years of manufacturing quality assurance experience with some of those years in a people leadership role and a proven track record of managing and improving quality processes.

  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to direct and guide a team towards successful outcomes.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, allowing you to effectively convey instructions, write reports, train, lead, and collaborate with colleagues and customers.

  • Strong problem-solving abilities, enabling you to troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Thorough understanding of and commitment to YPMH’s core values and the ability to demonstrate and communicate them to other employees.

  • Understanding of manufacturing & quality assurance best practices and experience implementing a continuous improvement mindset to improve key KPIs.

  • Proficiency and comfort with utilizing ERP software and systems to monitor and improve processes.
