Department Details:
This position is at our Orthopedic Clinic, requiring rotating weekends and some possible evenings.

Job Summary:
We are looking for an adaptable, confident, and empathetic Radiologic Imaging Specialist who can deliver exceptional diagnostic imaging for patients and healthcare providers at Sanford Health. This role encompasses various environments, including clinic, hospital, emergency department (ED), and operating room (OR) settings. The Radiologic Imaging Specialist must ensure precision in imaging, as accurate results are crucial for effective diagnoses. Opportunities for advancement into other modalities such as CT, MRI, and Mammography are available for our specialists.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic imaging examinations while ensuring the production of high-quality images.
  • Position patients accurately during radiographic procedures based on provider requests.
  • Implement and adhere to radiation safety guidelines, ensuring proper protection practices during imaging.
  • Navigate and operate the electronic medical record (EMR) system effectively.
  • Perform essential diagnostic radiology tasks while being knowledgeable of general radiology protocols.
  • Carry out mobile imaging, electrocardiograms (EKG), cardiac monitor placements, and dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) procedures.

Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed an educational program approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). A strong understanding of diagnostic radiographic principles, including positioning, image processing, quality control, and radiation protection, is required. Registration with the ARRT is essential.

If practicing in South Dakota, candidates must achieve ARRT certification within 60 days of hire. A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is also required within six weeks of employment. Depending on the department, a driver's license may be necessary.
