Job Description:

Our Honolulu, Hawaii office is seeking a Senior Engineer/Project Manager to help expand our growing presence in the Pacific island region. In this role, you will provide leadership, management, and technical support for a variety of multidisciplinary teams to deliver infrastructure projects in this region and across the country for other Schnabel offices based on workload balance and resource availability. This role will primarily support projects in Hawaii. Periodic travel will be required. Hybrid work arrangements are permitted.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage multidisciplinary infrastructure projects through concept, investigation, design, and construction phases including budget, schedule, coordination, and task scope.

  • Collaborate with and lead multidiscipline teams through the design process.

  • Manage, execute, and provide technical support, in a team setting and on a variety of challenging infrastructure projects.

  • Manage the preparation of calculations and design reports, plans, specifications, technical memorandums, and other project contract documents.

  • Communicate effectively with clients, business partners, subconsultants, and Schnabel team members.

  • Perform management duties related to obtaining signed contracts, verification of time sheets, reviewing and approving invoices, developing, and tracking project schedules and budgets for subconsultants.

  • Work as a team member across Schnabel offices to effectively balance workload among available resources.

  • Develop proposals for new work including scope of work, fee estimates, and client coordination.

  • Support marketing and business development across the country.

  • Manage and mentor junior engineers, commensurate with experience level.

  • Participate in the development of a cohesive, positive culture company-wide to cultivate a best-in-class environment that allows our people to realize their full potential.

Required Skills/Experience:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil engineering from an ABET-accredited institution

  • A Master's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, Structural, or related fields is preferred

  • 8+ years of design- and/or construction-oriented consulting engineering experience

  • A Professional Engineering license or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of hire

  • Project management experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail and well organized

  • Familiarity with heavy civil construction means and methods

  • Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel

  • Be physically able to navigate construction sites, enter trenches, climb ladders and work outside in various weather conditions.

  • Strong work ethic and the desire to perform professionally at a high level

  • Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a multi-person team

The compensation range for this position is between $85,000 to $140,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors. We remain committed to providing competitive and equitable compensation to all employees, regardless of their location.
