The Role of a Special Education School Van Operator: You will be responsible for safely transporting students to and from school, conducting pre-trip inspections, ensuring child safety, and adhering to all DOT regulations.
Qualifications:
At least three (3) years of driving experience with a clean record (no gaps and no more than 1 moving violation).
No DUIs or DWIs on your driving record.
Must pass a Department of Transportation physical.
Background checks and drug screens are mandatory.
Applicants must be at least 23 years old.
Valid driver’s license is required.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:
Undergoing training at $18.00/hour
Safely transporting students to school and activities
Ensuring timely arrival at all destinations
Performing thorough pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
Conducting child safety checks after each route
Utilizing navigation tools for efficient routing
Maintaining a clean, fueled, and well-kept vehicle
Keeping accurate mileage and maintenance logs
Interacting professionally with students, parents, and staff
Executing additional duties as required
