Leidos is looking for a seasoned Program Manager to spearhead the Universal Stage Adapter program, a vital initiative supporting NASA's Space Launch System. You will be part of a dynamic team of skilled engineers and functional specialists committed to creating innovative, cost-effective solutions for national commercial and military space objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and maintain clear project objectives
  • Oversee technical scope management within assigned control accounts
  • Facilitate program-level meetings and establish clear expectations for the project team
  • Monitor daily execution activities, providing oversight to Integrated Project Teams, functional support, subcontractors, and vendors
  • Review and adjust the integrated master schedule in collaboration with IPT leads to ensure timelines are met
  • Proactively manage program risks and identify opportunities, working with IPTs to formulate effective mitigation strategies
  • Assist in preparing earned value reports for the customer
  • Analyze program metrics to ensure effective execution
  • Drive program execution to achieve or surpass profitability goals
  • Create and present various information reports, including:
    • Monthly Program Management Reviews (PMRs)
    • Weekly senior management meetings
    • Internal and external programmatic reviews
    • Customer IPT discussions
    • Status tracking for internal and external action items
  • Encourage cooperation and communication across project teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent from an accredited university, along with substantial program management experience
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant project/program management experience, with at least 15 years in aerospace product development and production
  • Experience managing a development or production program exceeding $100M
  • Proficiency in executing an Earned Value Management program
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to brief senior management and customers effectively
  • Strong grasp of hardware development, manufacturing, procurement, and integration
  • Experience in budgeting and cost estimation
  • Proven ability to manage subcontractors

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with manned space flight programs
  • Advanced degrees in relevant engineering fields
  • Expertise in composite manufacturing
  • Experience in leading large, diverse teams, including suppliers and subcontractors
  • Demonstrated success in managing tight schedules and metric-driven programs
  • Project management credentials (PMP) or equivalent
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
  • Strong leadership skills focused on team collaboration and conflict resolution
  • Ability to analyze complex data to solve problems and make informed decisions
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills

Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the North Alabama area. This role will primarily be based at Leidos' facilities in Huntsville, AL, and Decatur, AL, with options for situational telework.
