Work Schedule:
Sunday to Thursday from 11:30 PM to 8:00 AM
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all necessary repairs on diesel equipment such as tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.
Perform preventative maintenance adhering to DOT standards.
Guide and mentor fellow maintenance staff.
Respond to road calls, coordinate with third-party vendors, and collaborate with business partners for effective responses, including equipment swaps.
Utilize fleet maintenance software on a tablet to thoroughly document repairs and parts used.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with safety regulations and guidelines.
Complete additional tasks as assigned by the manager.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal: All Fleet Technicians, Drivers, Coordinators, and the Manager.
External: Dealer Service Managers.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Onsite: This role is performed in a US Foods maintenance facility.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
5 years of verified experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic.
Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting with fleet maintenance software.
Independent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must provide own personal hand tools.
Compliance with EPA and OSHA regulations required.
Ability to read and comprehend technical and service manuals.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Capability to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
Adaptability to meet changing organizational and operational needs.
Computer proficiency.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Brake certification is required.
LICENSES
A valid driver's license is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience with JPRO software.
Welding skills.
Understanding of electrical schematics.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
Leadership experience preferred.
Valid Class A CDL license and DOT certification.
EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) certification is beneficial.

Compensation is based on relevant experience, education, specific skills, and geographic location. The expected starting pay for this role is $31.50 per hour, with overtime compensation available.
