Position Summary
The Radiology Operations Coordinator plays a critical role in supervising, coordinating, and overseeing the daily operations and workflow of imaging services within the Urgent Care environment, ensuring exceptional customer service and quality control.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Deliver patient care essential for imaging procedures, exercising professional judgment in accordance with health system policies and protocols.
- Function as a Medical Assistant to room patients, obtain vital signs, reconcile medications, and interview patients to identify chief complaints.
- Mentor staff and students, demonstrating problem-solving skills and providing high-level expertise.
- Conduct regular quality control checks and coordinate necessary machine maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Perform routine quality assurance checks for technicians and provide coaching and additional training when needed.
- Address and document any errors or incidents encountered by technicians.
- Act as a liaison between the Radiology Department and Urgent Care clinics to maintain up-to-date practices for all technicians.
- Utilize initiative, good judgment, and technical expertise to perform a wide range of imaging procedures, serving as a positive role model for staff and students.
- Foster teamwork in all aspects of patient service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a JRCERT accredited Radiography program.
- ARRT Certification/Eligible in good standing.
- State of Connecticut License/Eligible.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three to five years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT, RDMS, NMTCB, etc.) required.
- One to three years of leadership experience, including staff coaching and counseling, and schedule development.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Demonstrated high-level technical expertise in two or more imaging modalities.
- Strong communication skills (oral and written) with the ability to interact positively with healthcare workers and guests.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- Good judgment and problem-solving skills with the independence to make decisions.
- Demonstrated flexibility and teamwork ability to build consensus.
- Proficient in computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheets.
