Your Role:
As a Surgical Technologist I, you will be an integral part of an innovative team at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, the largest hospital in Wisconsin. You will have the opportunity to make a difference in the Operating Room by demonstrating your attention to detail and ability to thrive in high-pressure situations. Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surgical areas using aseptic techniques, ensuring safety and efficiency for optimal patient care.
  • Maintain knowledge of a variety of procedures and assist in performing them as needed.
  • Set up and clean the operating room, including moving and handling equipment.
  • Act as a Second Assistant when necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with the surgical team regarding equipment and supply needs.
  • Safely transport patients and manage a variety of equipment.
  • Maintain specialty carts, ensuring readiness for various cases through regular inspections.
  • Demonstrate awareness of age-specific patient needs in your care delivery.

Requirements:

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association is required within 6 months of hire.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program is necessary.
  • No previous experience is required; we welcome new talent eager to learn

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of aseptic surgical techniques and operating room protocols.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
