Starting pay for our Diesel Mechanics ranges from $40.00 to $45.00 per hour, based on your experience

Schedule: Sunday through Thursday with a 9:00 PM start time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, and complete necessary repairs on diesel equipment including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates.

• Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with DOT standards.

• Guide and mentor other maintenance shop personnel.

• Handle road calls, coordinate third-party vendors, and collaborate with business partners to determine the best plan of action, including equipment swaps.

• Utilize fleet maintenance software to document repairs and parts used.

• Maintain a tidy and safe work environment compliant with safety regulations.

• Complete other duties as assigned by management.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Onsite work is required in a US Foods maintenance facility.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years of hands-on experience as a heavy-duty commercial diesel mechanic is required.

• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills with fleet maintenance software.

• Proven independent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Personal hand tools must be furnished.

• Familiarity with EPA and OSHA regulations relevant to shop and fleet operations.

• Ability to read and understand technical and service manuals.

• Exceptional communication skills with a focus on teamwork.

• Capability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

• Adaptability to changing organizational and operational needs.

• Basic computer and software proficiency.

EDUCATION

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.

CERTIFICATIONS/TRAINING

• Brake certification is required.

LICENSES

• A valid driver's license is a necessity.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with JPRO software.

• Welding skills are a plus.

• Knowledge of electrical schematics.

• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• Leadership experience is advantageous.

• A valid Class A CDL and DOT certification is preferred.

• EPA 608 (Type 2 or Universal) certification is a plus.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and education, with expected base pay between $40-$45/hr.

This position also offers overtime compensation.
