Description
The Sr. Director of Engineering is responsible for managing the U.S. and overseas product design engineering function and staff. Actively provides leadership and vision to meet design and product goals to support the growth of the division and market.
Requirements
This position requires the following qualifications (at a minimum):
- Engineering degree - Bachelor's (BS) or Master's (MS) Degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, or Biomechanical.
- 15 years total experience in engineering or engineering related role.
- 10+ years direct engineering experience class I/II orthopedic instruments and medical device implants.
- 3-5 years in total joints development
- Experience leading global engineering teams through developing product through all five phases of Design Controls including design control documentation, product development, product verification and validation testing, and release to domestic and/or international markets.
- Experience in medical device regulatory testing and submission process.
- Experience working with surgeons for new product development of medical devices in revision and complex primary joints.
- Experience in successfully bringing new medical device products to market.
- Experience working with internal and external stakeholders in the medical device product life cycle for successful launch.
- Management of engineering budget.
- Experience working with domestic and international suppliers and supply chains.
- Experience in project management.

The expected base salary range for this position is between $190,000-$220,000 annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications.
