Salary Range: $34.00 - $46.50
Department Overview
Our acute therapy environment is fast-paced and collaborative. As a Speech Therapist, you'll travel throughout the hospital to provide care across various units—including pulmonary, surgical/trauma, cardiology, renal, neuro, oncology, and ICU. You’ll have the chance to work with diverse patient diagnoses such as neuro disorders, head and neck cancer, and swallowing disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer comprehensive speech and language evaluations to diagnose and create tailored treatment plans.
- Deliver quality speech and language services while monitoring patient progress.
- Guide clients in practicing therapeutic exercises and provide expert consultation throughout their treatment journey.
- Maintain compliance with all standards, policies, and quality requirements.
- Possess flexibility in work assignments and schedules, collaborating with various healthcare professionals.
- Supervise assistants, aides, and students, ensuring quality care is delivered.
- Engage in continuous education and training within the department.
- Adapt your focus based on assigned area, including post-acute and long-term care.
Qualifications
- Required educational qualifications in line with state licensure.
- Must hold a state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association or currently in Clinical Fellowship Year.
- Valid driver's license may be required based on the role.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or to be obtained within the first 60 days.
