Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Minimum 13 years [ Tech Lead ] of software development experience with significant Python programming expertise, including several years in a technical lead or architect role (leading teams or projects). Demonstrated experience in delivering large-scale systems in production.
- Python & Frameworks: Expert-level proficiency in Python (Python 3.x) and its ecosystem. Deep knowledge of Python web frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI for building APIs and web services. Comfortable with asynchronous programming and frameworks (e.g., AsyncIO, NodePy) for handling concurrency (a plus).
- Architecture & APIs: Strong understanding of microservices architecture and designing RESTful APIs. Experience in defining service-oriented architectures that are scalable, maintainable, and secure. Ability to design system interactions (synchronous and asynchronous) suitable for telecom-scale data and transaction volumes.
- Databases: Proficiency in database design and management. Hands-on experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL and MySQL (writing complex SQL, optimizing queries). Familiarity with ORM tools (e.g., SQLAlchemy, Django ORM). Exposure to NoSQL databases or distributed data stores (Cassandra, MongoDB) is a plus for handling large-scale telecom data
- Cloud & DevOps: Experience with cloud platforms - preferably AWS (or Azure/GCP) - for deploying and hosting services. Knowledge of cloud-native design (scalability, load balancing, caching). Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.) to automate build, test, and deployment. Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) for microservice deployment is highly desirable (telecom environments often leverage cloud and containers for network functions). - Telecom Domain Expertise: Experience in the telecommunications domain or building software for telecom clients is highly valued. Good understanding of telecom operational and business support systems (OSS/BSS) and workflows. Familiarity with core telecom network components (such as mobile network nodes like MME, PCRF, SBC, etc.) and telecom protocols or call flows is a strong plus. This domain knowledge will help in designing solutions aligned with telecom standards (e.g., high availability, low latency) and integrating with existing telco systems.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Mentor and lead engineers, foster knowledge sharing, and support professional growth through agile best practices.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers and teams to turn requirements into technical solutions and integrate with network infrastructure.
- Leadership & Communication: Proven leadership and team management skills - ability to run a technical team, set coding standards, organize work, and inspire excellence. Experience conducting code reviews and providing constructive feedback to engineers. Able to articulate complex technical concepts in simple terms and negotiate technical solutions with clients or partners.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for debugging complex issues in distributed systems. Should be adept at performance tuning and optimizing code for high throughput and low latency - critical for telecom applications that handle large volumes of data in real time.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, Agile environment and quickly adapting to new technologies or requirements
