Learning Support Assistant Description:

You will be responsible for teaching and actively monitoring children while embracing positive discipline strategies and collaborative planning to maintain an enriching classroom atmosphere. Learning Support Assistant Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Drug Screening.
  • Pass a Physical Capacities Examination and TB screening.
  • Clearance of Criminal History Background.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Experience in a preschool setting preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be willing to obtain Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certifications within 30 days of hiring.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a vehicle with liability insurance as required for completing work responsibilities.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is desirable, but not required; the primary workplace language is English.
  • Support the lead teacher in organizing meaningful opportunities for children and families to connect with the community.
  • Attend Parent Meetings to engage with families.
  • Foster effective collegial relationships.
  • Be responsive to feedback from mentors, coaching, and management; demonstrate a willingness to implement new strategies.
  • Maintain current Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid certifications.
  • Complete 15 credit hours in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and a minimum of 20 hours of continuing education based on an individualized professional development plan.
