Control System Engineer

The Control System Certification Engineer is part of the Software Systems Capability function. This role involves working closely with control system development engineers and airworthiness authorities to create certification work products that meet the certification basis of the program. The engineer will develop requirements, design, verification, and traceability evidence for lifecycle data created during control and monitoring system development.
Key Responsibilities
- Capture evidence of requirement validation, use cases, design constraints, quality, safety, and security attributes
- Collaborate with development teams to ensure understanding of certification plans, standards, and configuration management
- Generate reports to collect and publish lifecycle data for airworthiness authorities
- Implement improvements to certification work products based on stakeholder feedback
- Liaise with other disciplines to understand relationships between various lifecycle data types
- Experience in airborne system development and certification
- Working knowledge of associated engineering disciplines
- Proficient in requirements management, design, and analysis tools
- Ability to interpret certification evidence and assess correctness and completeness
- Strong task management and communication skills
- Experience in sharing certification data with airworthiness authorities
- Ability to seek solutions and information from suppliers, customers, and certification guidance
- Skilled in team-oriented, collaborative environments
- Controls Systems experience including software-centric systems (HVAC, Engine, Brake Systems, Gas Turbine)
- System requirement development experience (e.g., Electronic Engine Control Systems, Cameo)
- Configuration management experience with rigorous system tracking
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Organizational and documentation skills
- Professional courage to highlight risks and concerns
Education: Bachelors Degree
