Position Description

Join our dedicated team as a Permanent Full-Time Senior Diesel Reefer Technician to support our comprehensive Truck Fleet at Ryder. As a Reefer Technician, you will be pivotal in diagnosing, overhauling, adjusting, and repairing a variety of truck and trailer equipment, with a special focus on refrigeration units such as Carrier.

  • Hourly Pay: $33.50 per hour
  • Earn a $100 Certification Bonus for each new ASE Certification obtained, up to $700
  • Quarterly Bonus: Potential to receive up to $500 every quarter
  • Schedule: Monday-Friday with weekends off
  • Hours: First Shift from 6:45 am - 3:15 pm

We are looking for the right Maintenance Repair Mechanic to join us at Ryder and work hands-on with Heavy Duty Vehicles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or Technical Certification or Post Secondary degree preferred
  • Basic tools are required
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver License preferred
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy and medium duty equipment
  • Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months of hire
  • Pass a Ryder Drug Test, DOT physical, and background checks

Responsibilities

  • Perform vehicle maintenance and repairs, including diagnostics
  • Conduct complex mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Interact with customers/drivers to assess vehicle complaints
  • Work in accordance with safety and compliance guidelines
  • Act as a mentor for junior technicians
  • Complete necessary training and certification within specified time frames
