Position Overview
As the Digital Marketing Director, you will lead the strategic development, stewardship, and digital execution of dōTERRA's global marketing vision. This role is responsible for driving digital growth, online engagement, performance marketing, digital product storytelling, and digital-first market positioning.
Working closely with Marketing and Creative, the ideal candidate is a strategic, data-driven digital leader with deep expertise in multi-channel digital marketing, emerging technologies, online consumer behavior, and scalable online acquisition strategies. This position requires strong capabilities in optimizing digital content experiences, and managing market based and global digital operations, tools, and budgets.
You will oversee a broad spectrum of digital marketing functions including website content, social media, paid media, SEO/SEM, email marketing, marketing automation, content strategy, campaign analytics, digital product education, learning & development and digital creative production.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration are required to accelerate dōTERRA's digital marketing transformation.
Core Responsibilities
Digital Marketing Strategy Development and Leadership:
- Partner with the Vice President of Global Marketing to define and execute a comprehensive digital marketing strategy that accelerates global brand growth, online enrollment, and customer retention.
- Build standardized, scalable digital frameworks to support product launches, brand campaigns, and education initiatives.
- Champion digital innovation, introducing best-in-class methodologies, tools, and data-driven marketing practices.
- Lead the evolution of dōTERRA's digital-first marketing approach across social media, SEO/SEM, paid media, influencer partnerships, and owned channels.
- Oversee digital campaigns, ensuring maximum reach, engagement, conversion, and ROI.
- Establish best practices for marketing automation, personalization, segmentation, and digital performance measurement.
- Collaborate closely with IT to evaluate, optimize, and adopt emerging digital platforms and technologies.
- Develop and execute digital go-to-market strategies for new product launches
- Ensure digital messaging, visual identity, and storytelling are culturally relevant and aligned with the core brand narrative.
- Maintain a compelling digital brand narrative centered around the power of essential oils
- Oversee the digital expression of brand campaigns across web, social, and paid media.
- Ensure digital brand consistency and adaptability across regions.
- Support digital-first education strategies to equip Wellness Advocates with high-impact online tools, resources, and content.
- Integrate digital marketing narratives across e-learning, training modules, and digital resource platforms.
- Facilitate and support digital research, social listening, and data analytics to understand consumer preferences, online behavior, and industry trends.
- Deliver actionable, data-driven insights that guide business and marketing strategies.
- Define KPIs and dashboards to track brand awareness, digital reach, conversions, CAC, retention, and campaign effectiveness.
- Lead and/or mentor teams across digital marketing, content, creative, and analytics
- Foster a culture of digital innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous optimization.
- Partner closely with Product Development, Sales, Education, Events, IT, and Regional Leadership to ensure cohesive digital alignment across all business objectives.
- Build and manage the digital marketing budget with a focus on maximizing ROI, reducing inefficiencies, and improving digital performance.
- Optimize digital agency partnerships, platform relationships, and vendor contracts.
- Collaborate with events teams to integrate digital engagement strategies before, during, and after global and regional events.
- Ensure all events are supported by high-performing digital campaigns and online experiences.
Qualifications and Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive digital marketing leadership experience, including at least 5 years leading multi-country or global digital strategy.
- Demonstrated success in performance marketing, SEO/SEM, paid social, email marketing, and marketing automation.
- Proven experience managing large, cross-functional, and geographically distributed digital teams.
- Deep expertise in digital marketing, analytics, paid media, multi-channel campaign strategies, and digital optimization.
- Strong understanding of digital brand positioning, content strategy, and online customer journeys.
- Proficiency with digital analytics tools (Google Analytics, Looker Studio, HubSpot, or similar).
- Exceptional communication and digital storytelling skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to balance long-term digital vision with short-term performance goals.
- Proven ability to inspire and lead digital teams.
- Strong collaboration skills across executive and regional stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, highly digital environment.
- Experience in direct selling, network marketing, wellness, or lifestyle brands.
- Familiarity with essential oils or wellness products.
- Background in global product launches, performance marketing, or large-scale digital transformation.
