Levant Planning Analyst

The Levant Planning Analyst provides operational planning support with emphasis on the Levant region, developing plans and strategies for contingencies affecting MARCENT responsibilities. This role supports the development of OPLANs and CONPLANs, conducts regional analysis to identify operational challenges, and prepares annexes, appendices, and planning products tailored to the region. The analyst collaborates closely with CENTCOM and regional partners to ensure planning assumptions are synchronized with broader strategic objectives. With 5-10 years of joint, bilateral, or multilateral contingency planning experience, and specialized knowledge of Middle Eastern regional dynamics, the analyst enables MARCENT to posture forces effectively and sustain readiness in the Levant AOR. ***THIS EMPLOYMENT IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD***

Responsibilities/Duties:

- Support development of OPLANs and CONPLANs for the Levant region.

- Conduct regional analysis to identify challenges to operations.

- Prepare annexes, appendices, and planning products tailored to the region.

- Collaborate with CENTCOM and regional partners regarding planning assumptions.

- Provide expertise in component supporting plans for OPLANs and CONPLANs.

- Plan and coordinate conferences and working groups in support of planning objectives.

- Contribute to the development of strategic, policy, campaign, and posture plans.

Supplemental Duties:

- Provide advisory support on regional planning integration into MARCENT strategies.

- Assist in developing SOPs for regional contingency planning.

- Capture and document lessons learned from Levant-focused planning efforts.

Administrative Duties:

- Maintain compliance with MARCENT administrative procedures and reporting requirements.

- Ensure planning documentation is archived according to records management standards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Education/Experience/Qualification:

- Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, Middle Eastern Studies, or related field required.

- 5-10 years of joint or multinational operational planning experience.

- Expertise in contingency planning within the CENTCOM AOR.

- Experience in supporting development of strategic, policy, campaign, and posture plans.

- Skilled in planning and coordinating conferences and working groups.

- TS/SCI clearance required.

Additional Skills:

- Strong analytical and writing skills for operational and strategic planning.

- Ability to integrate regional expertise into contingency planning.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and planning software.

- Effective communication skills for coordination with CENTCOM, regional partners, and joint staff.

Location:

Primary workplace is MARCENT Headquarters, MacDill Air Force Base, Tampa, Florida.

Work Environment:

Office environment within a joint military/civilian/contractor staff. Includes participation in conferences, working groups, and planning sessions with CENTCOM and regional partners.

Physical Demands:

Primarily sedentary office work with extensive computer use. May involve travel to support regional planning events and conferences.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday, 0800-1600.

May require flexibility for conferences, exercises, or urgent planning events.

License and Other Requirements:

Valid U.S. Driver's License. Eligibility for issuance of a Common Access Card (CAC).

Travel:

May include CONUS and OCONUS travel to support Levant-focused planning engagements, conferences, and exercises.
