Job Description:
The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is in search of a strategic, knowledgeable HR leader to oversee compliance, coordination, and administration of FMLA and Workers' Compensation leave for the agency.

DUTIES:
-Serve as the agency subject matter expert for all FMLA and Workers' Compensation inquiries, requests, and claims.
-Determine FMLA eligibility by reviewing medical certifications and documentation, ensuring compliance with all federal and state leave laws.
-Consult with supervisors and employees on leave policies, procedures, and documentation requirements to ensure consistent and compliant administration.
-Administer and track all FMLA leave usage (continuous, intermittent, and reduced schedule) and coordinate with payroll to ensure accurate leave coding.
-Manage Workers' Compensation processes, including required filings, return-to-work coordination, and oversight of light-duty programs.
-Develop, implement, and maintain agency policies, procedures, and records related to FMLA and Workers' Compensation.
Requirements/Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a related field. Experience may be substituted for education on a year for year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience administering FMLA and Workers' Compensation programs, including eligibility determination and compliance with federal and state laws. Skilled in consulting with supervisors and employees on leave policies, procedures, and documentation requirements. Proven ability to manage detailed, high-volume casework while maintaining accurate and confidential records. Experience coordinating return-to-work and light-duty programs with supervisors, payroll, and risk management. Experience with HRIS, Kronos, and Workday for leave tracking, reporting, and compliance management.
