GENERAL PURPOSE OF POSITION: We are seeking a dedicated Team Leader to guide and mentor drive-in crew members, carhops, and skating carhops in delivering high-quality food in a clean, safe, and efficient environment. Your leadership will ensure that every guest enjoys an outstanding experience at Sonic Drive-In.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
- Perform various duties across all Basic Stations (Fountain & Frozen, Dresser, Front Swamp, Back Swamp, Grill, Switchboard, Expeditor, Food Prep, Carhop, Skating Carhop, and Drive-Thru as needed) to maintain operational standards in food preparation, presentation, and service.
- Train, monitor, and coach team members and carhops to excel in their roles, ensuring a high level of service.
- Operate the switchboard to accurately record and repeat customer orders.
- Manage Drive-Thru operations and sales register, ensuring quick and accurate transactions.
- Prepare a variety of beverages and food items efficiently.
- Assemble and package all menu items properly for takeout and delivery.
- Efficiently serve food to customers, ensuring a positive experience.
- Handle food products and supplies, managing weights up to 50 lbs when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness throughout the drive-in area, including routine trash disposal and sanitization of surfaces and utensils.
- Conduct frequent washing and sanitizing of food preparation areas and tools.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prioritize guest satisfaction and respond to requests promptly and respectfully.
- Manage guest complaints and collaborate with supervisors to resolve issues.
- Report any incidents involving guests or employees to management immediately.
- Monitor the working environment for potential issues and communicate them to management.
- Adhere to uniform and personal protective equipment guidelines as per Sonic Drive-In operations manual.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENT: This role involves exposure to heat and hot liquids while cooking, as well as cold environments when stocking items, with occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions.
QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong communication skills and basic math abilities.
- Ability to follow instructions and multi-task effectively.
- Available to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Comply with all Sonic Drive-In policies, procedures, and health regulations.
- Successfully complete STAR certification and training programs.
- Capable of standing, bending, lifting, and performing overhead tasks regularly.
- General knowledge of restaurant or retail operations is preferred, especially in Quick Service Restaurants (QSR).
