Position Details:

  • Schedule: Sunday - Thursday, starting at 4:00 PM until the last trailer is shuttled (typically done by 2:00 AM). Average 9-11 hours per shift.

Position Purpose:

As a CDL Class A Shuttle Operator, you play a vital role in our food supply chain. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure prompt and safe delivery of products while building strong relationships with clients. You will transport empty trailers to warehouse locations and deliver full trailers to designated shuttle yard locations, adhering to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Effective communication and teamwork is key in this role.

Position Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct safety checks and inspections of tractor/truck and trailers according to DOT regulations.

  • Report safety issues and needed repairs promptly.

  • Adhere to all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines, ensuring the security of loaded freight.

  • Drive and deliver trailers according to a predetermined route schedule.

  • Perform hook/unhook procedures following safety guidelines.

  • Maintain and store tractor trailers in designated areas.

  • Secure all equipment and freight appropriately.

  • Handle damaged goods and secure customer returns safely.

  • Complete daily records of hours of service as per federal and state requirements.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Perform additional related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 12 months commercial driving experience.
  • High school diploma/GED or state-approved equivalent.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid CDL A with Doubles Endorsement.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Ability to work required 3rd shift schedule, Sunday-Thursday nights.
  • Pass a post-offer drug test and criminal background check, along with a road test.
  • Valid current DOT Health Card or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to lift and handle various product cases throughout the shift.
