Our flagship Ready, Willing & Able (RWA) program provides paid transitional work experience, transitional housing, advanced occupational training, and comprehensive supportive services to individuals experiencing homelessness. The Doe Fund is also one of New York City's largest nonprofit developers of permanent affordable and supportive housing, with more than 1,900 units in operation or pre-development. The Doe Fund has an annual operating budget of $80 million and a full-time staff of nearly 500, a significant portion of whom are graduates of our programs.
We are seeking a Full-Time Resident Manager for The Doe Fund's newest permanent supportive housing program for homeless men and women living with HIV/AIDS. The program is designed to provide long-term residential care and twenty-four-hour support services in a community environment that maximizes residents' independence while ensuring their physical and emotional security and well-being. Forty-one units will be allocated for residents referred by the New York City HIV/AIDS Services Administration (HASA), and twenty-seven apartments will be for adults referred by the New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA).
The Resident Manager is responsible for the supervision of the residents and the overall operation of the facility during designated shifts. S/he will work collaboratively with the Clinical team and the Program Director to ensure that resident needs are being met, as well as the safety of the facility. The successful candidate will have strong communication skills along with experience working with the HIV/AIDS population.

The shift that we are looking to cover is: Monday to Friday, 12:00 am to 8 pm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Function as a liaison between the residents and the staff
- Collaborate with the security staff during his/her tour of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents
- Perform hourly patrols through the facility
- Manage any challenging situations and crises that may occur at the facility
- Responsible for handling any incidents that may arise in the facility and completing an Incident Report form as needed
- Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team, as well as document them in the appropriate logbook
- Attend all mandatory staff meetings
- Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with the FDNY
- Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS
- Other duties as assigned
- High School diploma or GED, some college preferred
- Fire Safety certification is preferred (F-02 or F-80)
- At least two years of experience working in a social service, residential setting
- The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Computer skills - internet and Microsoft Office
