Job Description

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have or be eligible for Virginia licensure.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with administrators and other instructional staff.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
  • Dual endorsement in English as a Second Language and/or Special Education, or in any other content area, is preferred but not required.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Knowledge and experience with current best practices in work-based learning
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Facilitate classroom opportunities that align with career exploration and work-based learning.
  • Identify interested and qualified students.
  • Facilitate work-based learning placement.
  • Ensure equitable access to work-based learning experiences.
  • Assess student interest in various career pathways and use the information to develop career exploration curriculum.
  • Coordinate and assist in the facilitation of employment skills workshops such as job interviewing, job application and resume writing.
  • Conduct student work-based learning orientation including duties and responsibilities, compensation, benefits, schedules, and working conditions.
  • Provide students with school-based opportunities to build their knowledge and skills in preparation for WBL experiences outside of the classroom.
  • Cultivate community partnerships to help secure contacts for students.
  • Finalize each student internship training agreement and training plan with the student, parent/guardian, and employer.
  • Help maintain an employer/labor database to track student internship opportunities as well provide reports on program participants.
  • Coordinate summer learning experiences.
  • Provide professional development for teachers surrounding work-based learning and how to embed in their classroom.
  • Collaborate across disciplines to support implementation of work-based learning.
  • Review and analyze data surrounding student access and engagement to work based learning.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SALARY:
  • Salary will be based on the FY2025-26 salary schedule.
