Direct Support Professionals provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities in residential program settings. You'll play a key role in promoting independence, daily living skills, and community inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Support individuals with daily living needs, personal goals, and community involvement
- Assist with meal preparation, medical appointments, and recreational activities
- Administer medication (with AMAP certification)
- Ensure a safe, positive, and engaging program environment
- Complete required documentation and adhere to OPWDD and organizational policies
- High School Diploma/GED required
- Valid NY driver's license required
- Prior experience supporting individuals with special needs strongly preferred
- Compassion, patience, and dedication to empowering others
