Estimator – Landscape Construction

Overview
We are looking for a detail-oriented and self-motivated Estimator to join our growing team. This position offers flexibility to work remotely or on-site, depending on project needs and candidate preference. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at interpreting project documents, and has a keen eye for accuracy and efficiency. You'll play a key role in developing reliable cost estimates for landscape construction projects, ensuring that every proposal is aligned with our high standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review blueprints, plans, and project specifications to identify scope, materials, and requirements.

  • Prepare comprehensive cost estimates for plants, materials, equipment, transportation, and labor.

  • Utilize the company's streamlined estimating system to source materials and resources efficiently.

  • Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers to clarify details and confirm cost accuracy.

  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, bids, and revisions to ensure transparency and accountability.

  • Revise and update cost estimates as project scopes evolve or new information becomes available.

  • Participate in internal reviews to ensure that proposals are competitive, profitable, and strategically aligned with project goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an Estimator in landscaping, construction, or a closely related field.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, landscape plans, and technical drawings accurately.

  • Strong understanding of landscape materials, labor rates, and equipment costs.

  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.

  • Proficiency in Excel, estimating software, and general computer systems.

  • Self-directed professional who can manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with resort or large-scale commercial landscape projects.

  • Knowledge of horticulture, plant materials, and landscape design principles.

  • Previous experience working in remote or hybrid environments.
