Position Overview: Woodward Academy is currently seeking professional housekeepers to join our workforce in the Facilities Custodial Department. The successful candidate will maintain cleanliness and order throughout assigned areas, including classrooms, offices, restrooms, and common spaces. They will perform a variety of cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces, while ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The candidate will report any maintenance or repair needs, restock supplies as necessary, and assist in setting up or rearranging spaces for special events. Additionally, they will maintain a positive and professional attitude while interacting with students, staff, and visitors, contributing to a clean and welcoming environment.
Specific Duties include:
- Keep campus and common areas clean and maintained.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
- Clean and stock restrooms.
- Clean up spills with appropriate equipment.
- Notify managers of necessary repairs.
- Collect and dispose of trash.
- Properly clean and dust furniture, desks, and fixtures
- Maintain the cleanliness assigned offices and work stations
- Attending all required staff meetings, including training sessions
- Reporting anything unusual they see happen on campus to your immediate supervisor or security.
- Complying with all rules of the department as specified in the employee manual.
- Responsible for specific duties assigned by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned by department leadership
- Must have strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage your time efficiently.
- Work well individually, in addition to the team
- Perform the basic requirements of maintenance and cleaning.
- Must maintain a professional appearance
- Must be able to effectively communicate (verbally and written)
- Must be able to use the required cleaning equipment.
- Must be able to lift 30 lbs. ( with or without accommodation)
- One year experience in housekeeping or other related field.
- High School Diploma preferred, but not required.
The Housekeeper position is a non-exempt, full time position. Earning potential starting at $15.00 per hour. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. EOE
