Job Title: Patient Care Coordinator
Location: Optum Redlands – 2 W Fern Ave, Redlands, CA 92373
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Training hours are the same)
Interview Process: Face-to-face interviews
Dress Code: Business casual
Screenings Required: Candidates must successfully complete a drug screen, background check, and all required health screenings, which include TB blood test, MMR, Varicella, Hep B titers, and respirator medical clearance.

Position Overview

The Patient Care Coordinator is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a welcoming and supportive environment at our healthcare facility. This role requires strong communication skills, a friendly and approachable demeanor, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with a professional and friendly attitude.

  • Assist patients with general inquiries and provide directions to appropriate departments.

  • Support patients with wayfinding to relocated departments or services.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming front entrance area.

  • Provide basic support to ensure smooth patient flow and a positive experience.

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Customer Service: Previous experience in a customer-facing role (healthcare, hospitality, or retail preferred).

  • Communication: Clear, compassionate, and professional verbal communication.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to remain calm, patient, and helpful in high-pressure situations.

  • Organization: Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • Technology: Comfortable with scheduling systems, basic office software, and phone systems.

  • Healthcare Knowledge (Preferred): Familiarity with medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines.

  • Language Skills (Preferred): Bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Minimum of 1 year of customer service or front desk experience preferred.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with light physical tasks.
