Student Organization Operations Intern

The Center for Student Engagement and Student Government Association (SGA) at Pace University NYC is seeking to hire a Student Organization Operations Intern. The Student Organization Operations Intern is part-time graduate internship positions reporting directly to the Assistant Director for Leadership Programs and will execute student organization operations directed by SGA. The Student Organization Operations Intern would serve as the primary resource in support and direction of our student organization operations that includes, but not limited to the following: space reservations for events & meetings, catering expenses, new student organization operations, student organization advisement, student organization training, and leadership development for student organizations.
General Duties
• Serve as the primary resource and regularly process space requests for the student organizations in support and direction of our management systems, SetterSync and R25 Live.
• Coordinate and collaborate with Campus Partners for space requests: Security, Buildings & Grounds, Special Events, Chartwells, Pace Bookstore, and Educational Media.
• Attend the Service Group meeting to confirm event plans for the upcoming dates.
• Attend Student Government Association (SGA) general body meetings to meet with SGA Executive Board, Senators and Student Org. Executive Officers.
• Assist with budgetary and financial processes for over 90+ student organizations accounts in regards to catering expenses.
• Facilitate sessions for the New Student Organization (NSO) process.
• Track attendance and completion for continuation through the NSO process and communicate effectively with the participants at each step.
• Assist in staffing the student organization retreat in the fall semester.
• Assist in planning and staffing the Setter CORE Workshop Nights in spring semester.
• Assist in updating the Setter CORE online module content.
• Submit up to date information for the NewLEADer on a weekly basis.
• Create and distribute important reminders to student org leaders throughout the year.
• Conduct a bi-weekly assessment and clean up of the student org storage closet.
• Assist in coordinating Minor Events for the Center for Student Engagement.
Other Responsibilities
• Assist with a heavy volume of phone calls; taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary
• Support the Office in all university related programs and functions.
• Serve as a member of Student Affairs committees.
• Participate in Professional Development on/off campus.
• General clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, shredding, sending faxes, and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner

- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and patient with visitors
- Office experience a plus
- Student Organization involvement is a plus
- Ability to work independently
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
