Accounting Specialist 1/2/Technician

We're looking for an Accounting Specialist 1/2/Tech within the Financial Services section at the Department of Public Safety Office of Management and Finance (DPS-OMF). Minimum Qualifications include one year of experience or training in accounting, auditing, bookkeeping, or financial operations or computations. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will substitute for one year of the required experience.
Job Duties include preparing and assisting with balancing the monthly Office of Motor Vehicle Escrow Disbursements, assisting in the classification of revenues to include balancing and reconciling assigned Department of Public Safety accounts, administering accounts receivable database to include entering, processing, billing, daily balancing, and monthly reconciliation of the subsidiary accounts receivable system, and reviewing and processing records of financial transactions, including invoices and/or deposit information relative to collections, refunds, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Position-Specific Details include a probational, promotional, or job appointment type, located in East Baton Rouge Parish, with work hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday. The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
