Director of Tax

Houston, TX (Memorial Area)

We are seeking an experienced Director of Tax to lead all tax-related activities for a dynamic, multi-entity organization with both domestic and international operations. This position plays a key role in tax strategy, compliance, planning, and accounting, and works closely with executive leadership and external partners.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead preparation and filing of federal, state, international, and indirect tax returns.
  • Provide strategic tax guidance on business operations, transactions, and entity structuring.
  • Manage third-party advisors on tax provision reviews and compliance for public and private entities.
  • Support audits, resolve tax notices, and ensure accurate GAAP tax accounting.
  • Build and scale an internal tax team aligned with corporate growth plans.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • CPA required; experience with utility or infrastructure project companies (Up-C structure) is a strong plus.
  • 10+ years of tax experience including SEC reporting, international tax, and partnership structures.
  • Strong working knowledge of ASC 740 and tax strategy in a complex entity environment.
  • Must be based in Houston or willing to relocate.
