Join us as a Senior Substation Engineering Specialist. This role will allow you to work on high-voltage projects for electric utilities ranging from 12kV to 500kV. Engage in this exciting and rapidly advancing field within the power systems industry, where you will see how renewable energy generation fits into the electrical grid. You will leverage your knowledge in digital logic design and AC/DC circuits to develop substation electrical projects.

We expect candidates to prioritize safety and quality control while adhering to project scope, schedule, and budget. You will collaborate as part of a dynamic design team that includes engineers, designers, and CAD technicians, ensuring compliance with client standards for design implementation.

*Hybrid Work Schedule: (3 days a week in Orlando, FL office)

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead substation physical project execution.
• Communicate effectively with team members and clients to fulfill project objectives.
• Conduct quality control checks on substation design projects.
• Read and create various substation physical drawings including one-line, three-line, plan-section, foundation, and grounding drawings.
• Generate and review bill of materials for substation physical designs.
• Conduct site visits at client locations as necessary.

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field with 4+ years of substation physical design experience.
• Experience with grounding/lightning protection studies.
• Strong communication skills for effective teamwork and client interaction.
• Able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• A proactive collaborator and leader within team environments.
• A self-motivated individual capable of working independently with minimal guidance.
• Exceptional analytical skills and a proven problem-solver.
• High level of computer proficiency.
• Willing to travel for project and client site visits.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Engineer Intern (EI or EIT) certification.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Familiarity with protection and control design.
• Experience with bus calculation.
• Proficiency in WinIGS or CDEGS solutions.
• Master's degree in a related discipline.
