Maintenance Mechanic

Duties/Responsibilities include:

  • Works safely and complies with all mill safety policies.
  • Completes yearly safety training.
  • Performs preventive maintenance work on equipment, documenting any findings.
  • Supports regular machine maintenance as assigned.
  • Repairs broken equipment quickly and efficiently.
  • Performs equipment rebuild work as assigned.
  • Collaborates with managers to recommend any potential improvements.
  • On-Call responsibilities shared with other maintenance mechanics
  • Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.
  • Technical Knowledge
    • Hydraulic & Pneumatic systems
    • Pumps
    • Bearings/Rotating Equipment
    • Equipment Rebuilds (pumps, bearings, etc.)
    • Rigging
    • SAP experience a plus
    • Pulp & Paper experience a plus
  • Works well independently and with others.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Education and Experience:
  • 2 years industrial mechanical maintenance work experience
  • Some vocational or community college with related coursework, a plus
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
