AMI will be assisting in providing medical staff to the IHS Cass Lake Hospital in Cass Lake, Minnesota to help deliver compassionate and quality healthcare to patients in the area.
Job Summary:
AMI Expeditionary Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled ER Physician to provide high-quality emergency care at the IHS Hospital in Cass Lake, MN. This facility serves the local tribal community and functions as a Level II Trauma Center, managing a full range of emergent and urgent medical conditions.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients of all ages presenting with trauma, medical, surgical, psychiatric, and obstetric emergencies.
- Perform rapid assessments, diagnostics, and treatment interventions in alignment with Level II trauma protocols.
- Lead trauma resuscitations and manage life-threatening conditions independently.
- Interpret diagnostic tests including EKGs, radiographs, and laboratory studies.
- Perform emergency procedures including intubations, central and peripheral line insertion, chest tube placement, procedural sedation, cardioversion, and advanced airway management.
- Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and local EMS for coordinated emergency response.
- Stabilize and prepare patients for transfer when advanced care is required.
- Maintain thorough and timely medical documentation.
- Adhere to established clinical protocols, patient safety standards, and hospital policies.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient in emergency procedures, critical care interventions, and trauma management.
- Must be able to multi-task, be detail-oriented, be organized and have excellent verbal and communication skills.?
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work on a team.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Must be able to successfully complete the AMI Credentialing Process.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from an accredited institution.
- ABEM Board Certified in Emergency Medicine (active certification required).
- Current, unrestricted medical license in the United States.
- Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency medicine clinical experience.
- Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and ATLS.
- Must be able to work in a safe manner following all safety rules and regulations. Must work as a team member to improve safety culture and quality.
- Read and follow instructions. Demonstrate safe work behavior.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of time.
- Must be able to push, pull, reach, and bend frequently.
- Utilize appropriate methods for interacting effectively and professionally with persons of all ages and from diverse cultural socioeconomic, educational, racial, and ethnic, sexual orientations, lifestyles, and physical abilities.
- Deliver targeted, culturally appropriate information to help individuals and groups understand health promotion and disease prevention information, policies, regulations, and local code.
