Overview
The client is the power of small businesses and self-employed individuals, recognizing their vital role in driving the global economy. Small businesses in the US form the backbone of employment, accounting for 60% of the workforce and creating 80% of new jobs. However, navigating the challenging early years poses significant risks, with a high failure rate within the first decade. One of two fails in the first five years, two of three before they can turn ten. Also, small and mid-market businesses now more than ever use multiple tools to get their jobs done. This presents new challenges - multiple versions of truth, siloed experiences and workarounds that become broken workflows.
The client is on its way to be the connected End to End platform that small and medium-sized businesses rely on every day to run and grow their businesses dramatically improving the chances of their success. As the Principal Product Manager on the 3rd Party App Integrations team, you will have the opportunity to define the strategy and build AI powered, seamless 3rd party app integration experiences within QuickBooks Online (QBO) that will amplify the speed to benefit and accelerate efficiency for our customers when they use QuickBooks and other software solutions. You will have the unique opportunity to elevate the QuickBooks experience for our customers irrespective of whether they are using an Intuit offering or other third-party solutions. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team of product managers, designers, engineers, data scientists, marketers, customer care, analysts and researchers to deliver best-in-class product experiences.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute impactful strategies for platform services & tooling that align with business objectives and partner ecosystem needs
- Partner extensively across business units to define and execute against plans. Drive decision making, role clarity, alignment and escalations as necessary
- Define and lead the product roadmap for some of the key elements of the App Partner ecosystem experiences and tooling, focusing on scalable solutions
- Translate product strategy into an actionable roadmap to deliver measurable outcomes
- Ruthlessly prioritize your team's backlog and work across teams to drive work in dependent areas
- Deeply engage with 3rd party partners and customers on an ongoing basis to understand their pain points, gather insights on how we can solve some of those big customer problems in a delightful way.
- Drive execution and delivery by managing dependencies and plans across a wide breadth of different internal teams and external partners
- Write requirements and specifications to meet business requirements and drive the product development schedule from design to release in an agile environment
- Take a data-driven approach in defining success metrics, prioritizing requirements, and communicating plan, progress and success across a cross-functional team.
- 5+ years of proven product management experience with a focus on developer platform and partner ecosystems, ideally with a SaaS based software company in the fintech space
- Strong analytical, prioritization, communication and negotiating skills are a must
- Experience serving as product owner for a scrum team, managing scrum ceremonies and constantly seeking to educate the team on product strategy and roadmap
- Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills are a must, including the ability to communicate complex technical problems simply and convincingly to drive fast decisions
- Strong data literacy and ability to use data and analytics to back your strategic approach
- A bias for action with a proven track record of delivering results at scale that impact critical business metrics in the short and long
- Prior experience in building, shipping and scaling platform capabilities (or) experience in the integrations space would be a plus
- Undergraduate degree required in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, Science or a related technical discipline (equivalent professional experience will be considered); MB plus
