Infrastructure Security Engineer in Kings Point, NY

Pay Rate Range: $43.46 - $48.46/hr depending on experience.

Our Client is seeking a Infrastructure Security Engineer to support the Department of Transportation's Cyber Security mission by joining a dedicated team of cybersecurity professionals who collaborate, cooperate, and facilitate maintaining and enhancing the security posture of DOT information systems and infrastructure. These information systems and infrastructure support the DOT mission of managing and maintaining United States critical infrastructure (i.e. highways, bridges, roads, etc.).

Top Qualifications, Skills, Experience or Certifications:
1. B.S. in Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, MIS or related field
2. Minimum 6 years hands-on experience in Cyber Security in a fast paced work environment
3. Excellent communication, analyzation, and troubleshooting skills
4. Hands on experience working with STIGs and NIST guidelines
5. Experience with Vulnerability management cycle, scanning and compliance tools
6. Understanding of firewalls, proxies, SIEM, antivirus, and IDPS concepts
7. CISSP certification
8. Work On-Site at Kings Point, NY

Job Role Specific Requirements:
Core responsibilities and duties; highlight day-to-day activities:
1. Monitor and administer Enterprise IT Security policies, maintain IT Security procedures, daily operating checklist, drive process improvements, and continuous security monitoring.
2. Manage the day-to-day Cyber Security activities of threat and vulnerability management, security awareness, identify risk tolerances, recommend treatment plans and communicate information about residual risk including vulnerability scanning, account management and review, penetration testing, and insider threats.
3. Proficiency in process of gathering, analyzing and assessing the current and future threat landscape, performing risk, business impact, control and vulnerability assessments including remediation and treatment strategies.
4. Ensure compliance with NIST Cyber Security and Risk Management Framework to maintain
confidentiality, integrity and availability of information systems.
5. Work with strategic and tactical guidance from leadership to implement IT Security projects, including the evaluation and recommendation of technical controls
6. Ability to communicate effectively with the Infrastructure and Applications teams, establish direction, foster teamwork, create an atmosphere of trust, leverage diverse views, encourage dialogue, encourage improvement and innovation
