Arcadis is seeking a Principal Industrial Water/Wastewater Consultant to join Arcadis Industrial Water Treatment and Optimization (IWTO) team as a seller/doer. This heavily client-facing technical position will be key to growth in the US and Canada in industries including Data Centers, Oil and Gas, Technology, Food & Beverage, Life Science, among others.

Role accountabilities
  • Engage with clients to understand needs, assess how Arcadis can support them, and help grow the teams revenue.
  • Lead and participate in proposal development, including abstracts and technical papers; serve as the Data Center and Technology SSL (Sector Solution Leader) for these sectors within the IWTO team.
  • Develop large industrial water/wastewater projects with industrial clients; roughly 50% of the role involves selling and client development.
  • Undertake conceptual and detailed process design for industrial water and wastewater treatment projects across multiple industries (the remaining ~50%).
  • Lead and direct the development of industrial water/wastewater projects across multiple Arcadis clients and sectors as part of the national practice.
  • Support client management/development processes and act as a technical expert during project execution; collaborate with Arcadis locations globally.
  • Coordinate with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and provide direction on design basis, mass/energy balances, P&IDs and Layouts, equipment specifications, and feasibility studies.
  • Provide leadership in knowledge transfer and staff development within area of expertise.
Qualifications & experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred).
  • 20+ years of industrial water/wastewater treatment experience.
  • Experience across engineering, project management, sustainability, sales/marketing, and technology.
  • Knowledge and experience with industrial clients in North America.
  • Strong experience in developing and leading large industrial wastewater capital projects.
Preferred qualifications
  • Professional Engineer license.
  • Knowledge of multinational industrial clients and experience in regional or national collaborative roles.
  • Masters degree in engineering (optional) and fluency in another language is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Wastewater Treatment Software and AutoCAD/BIM software.

Typical vacation: 15 days PTO; nine paid holidays. Salary range for this position is $116,000$174,000. Actual salaries vary based on experience, education, budget, internal equity, and location.
