You will support The Hospital of Central Connecticut in a local long term HIM role. This is a temp to hire assignment with one opening.

Position Details
• Allied Health Professional
• Specialty: HIM Specialist
• Contract Length: 13 weeks, temp to hire
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• No weekends
• No on call
• Pay: 17.86 to 18.50 dollars per hour
• Local candidates only

Position Summary
You will process requests for medical records and itemized bills. You will follow privacy regulations and provide timely and accurate service to patients, providers, and third party requesters. You will support daily HIM operations and maintain high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.

Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two to three years clerical experience in a healthcare setting
• Experience in a medical office or HIM department
• Knowledge of federal and state release of information rules
• Experience with EPIC or another EMR
• Understanding of medical terminology
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
