Position: Software Engineer Android development

Location: Portland, OR, in-person

Position Description:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Software team member that will be responsible for working with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers developing and maturing our rapidly growing family of counter drone technologies. This role will be involved with designing, developing, testing, and maintaining Android software for counter UAS systems in the ATAK ecosystem.

This role will work in a software development and embedded systems manufacturing environment where projects are realized with the highest degree of commitment to quality and efficiency.

Required Skills/Qualifications:
  • 7+ years' Experience developing native Android apps
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Adaptable, eager to learn, and create, with a proactive attitude towards continuous improvement
  • Ability to work in a small team to rapidly prototype and develop new products
  • Experience with REST APIs
  • Strong knowledge of android SDK and UI/UX development
  • Experience with Jira, and GitLab or Github
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
  • Experience with developing and deploying plugins for ATAK
  • Jave, Kotlin, C++
  • Gradle or other build systems
  • Experience with CI/CD tools
  • Ability to develop using application containers such as docker
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
Travel: Up to 10%

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • Must have the ability to stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
  • Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
  • Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
  • May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.


Other Requirements:
It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.

Salary: $160,000- $180,000

Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or annual bonus.
