Join Our Team as a Locum - Physician - Hematology Oncology in Tacoma, WA
Embark on a rewarding temporary opportunity providing exceptional care in Hematology and Oncology at distinguished healthcare facilities in Tacoma and Gig Harbor. This dynamic role offers you the chance to make a meaningful impact while further honing your clinical expertise in a collaborative setting, all within the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive Hematology and Oncology outpatient care, managing a patient volume of approximately 16-20 patients daily.
- Conduct evaluations for new and follow-up patients, with scheduled times of one hour for new visits and 20 minutes for follow-ups.
- Collaborate with a skilled support team using Epic EMR to deliver seamless patient care.
- Maintain adherence to hospital protocols and support outpatient and inpatient responsibilities as needed.
- Participate in rotating weekend call duties, with a maximum of one in four weekends, from Friday evening to Monday morning.
- Board certification or eligibility in Hematology and Oncology.
- Valid medical license to practice in Washington State.
- Proven experience in outpatient Hematology/Oncology, with excellent diagnostic and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong documentation skills and proficiency in EMR systems, preferably Epic.
- Experience with bone marrow aspirations (optional).
- Prior experience working in hospital outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with hospital inpatient protocols.
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of a Hematology/Oncology fellowship program.
- Minimum of 2 years of post-fellowship clinical experience.
- Immediate availability, with start date as soon as possible.
- Willingness to work scheduled shifts on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
- Possession of DEA and state-specific medical certifications.
- Ability to work during hospital hours and participate in optional night call or weekend rotations if desired.
