Position Summary

Energetiq Technology is seeking a Product Engineer II, with a strong Electrical Engineering background, to join a dynamic and growing technology company, working with a team of engineers and scientists bringing new products from concept to production. The Product Engineer II will engage in new product designs and sustaining activities for advanced light sources leveraging Energetiq's LDLS technology. The successful candidate must be highly organized and able to succeed in an entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan - Participate in activities such as requirement development, work breakdown, task sequencing, time and material budget estimation within area of expertise.
  • Design - Following Energetiq's NPDI process, design subsystems or modules of the overall system as assigned. Evaluate tradeoffs and make conclusions about the best design solution to meet established requirements (e.g performing activities such as optimization, error budgeting, and tolerance analysis).
  • Prototype - Fabricate prototypes for testing.
  • Test - Perform testing throughout the product lifecycle, e.g. prototype evaluation, root cause determination, verification, customer support, and regulatory compliance. Support development of automated test capabilities for product design verification and long-term testing
  • Document -Drive full documentation of design contributions including, BOM, drawings, and procedures, adhering to applicable change management processes.
  • Report - Provide written and oral updates on project status to internal and external stakeholders, including technical and project.
  • Transition to Manufacturing - Participate in the successful transition of designs to manufacturing.
  • Sustain - Track, troubleshoot, and identify the root cause for product issues escalated to engineering. Resolve and implement product fixes, modifications, and design enhancements (continuous improvement).
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors' degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, minimum
  • Electrical/PCB design software expertise (e.g. PADS, Altium).
  • Approximately 5 years of relevant hands-on product development, e.g. light sources, analytical instrumentation, or related industry.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Self-starter, must be able to work independently on assigned projects with support on an as-needed basis (i.e. does not require task level supervision) and proactively seek out information to drive success to role and supports peers.
  • Team player, with a strong work ethic and accountability.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Software/firmware programming experience in addition to Electrical Engineering.
  • Solid Works proficiency.
  • Knowledge of optics, plasma physics, lasers, and instrumentation (spectrometers, beam profilers, oscilloscopes, etc.)
  • Project management experience
