CGP: Interim Grants Accountant

Our leading non-profit is seeking a temporary Grants Accountant. You will play crucial role in managing and monitoring financial aspects related to grant funds. This position involves handling private grants, federal grants, and city grants. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently, demonstrate strong financial accounting skills, and adapt to recent systems changes (from Financial Edge to Sage Intacct). This position is 3 months. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $32 to $33 per hour.
Job Responsibilities:
- Process grant-related financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, computing, posting, and recording grant data.
- Prepare financial statements for multiple grants.
- Deliver monthly expense reports, variance analysis, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
- Assist in the preparation of interim and year-end audit working papers.
- Reconcile program-specific accounts with the general ledger.
- Work on grant proposals and financial analysis.
- Strong financial accounting skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal instruction.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Relevant experience in grant accounting, preferably in a nonprofit setting.
- Familiarity with private grants, federal grants, and city grants.
