About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated IVF Laboratory Supervisor to oversee daily operations across the Embryology, Andrology, and Endocrine Laboratories. This vital role manages staffing, budgeting, compliance, and quality assurance while maintaining the highest standards in patient care and laboratory performance. The IVF Laboratory Supervisor leads technical procedures, supports team development, ensures regulatory adherence, and collaborates across departments to drive operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in reproductive laboratory services.

We are seeking an IVF Laboratory Supervisor to join our dedicated team at Pinnacle Fertility- Illinois in Chicago, IL. While our core operational hours are Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, this is a role that requires a degree of flexibility, including weekend and holiday rotation as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure smooth daily lab operations and resolve issues proactively.
  • Maintain adequate supply levels of consumables and media; coordinate with vendors to resolve supply chain issues.
  • Schedule and oversee regular and as-needed equipment maintenance.
  • Oversee daily QC checks across all Pinnacle – IL laboratories.
  • Conduct quarterly QC/QA analysis using Power BI to monitor key performance indicators (e.g., embryo development, fertilization, pregnancy rates).
  • Work closely with the Lab Director utilizing Power BI data to support decision-making and track staff competencies.
  • Approve PTO requests and manage scheduling to ensure adequate lab coverage.
  • Assign shifts, monitor performance, and enforce Pinnacle and laboratory policies.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for staff questions and issues.
  • Organize and lead regular lab meetings; maintain and distribute meeting minutes.
  • Supervise staff task distribution, productivity, and training.
  • Provide mentorship and foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive work environment.
  • Conduct annual staff competency evaluations, including in-person observations.
  • Communicate and implement protocol and process changes effectively to staff.
  • Administer proficiency testing and related documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, OSHA, HIPAA, TJC, FDA, DOH, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Lab Director on continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the lab in monthly leadership meetings.
  • Engage in ongoing education and professional development (e.g., conferences, courses, industry meetings).
  • Perform additional projects and duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a biological science required.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience, including at least 3 years in a reproductive lab setting.
    • 2+ years of experience in a leadership position is preferred.
  • Skills
    • Meets CLIA requirements for General or Technical Supervisor.
    • Proficient in all embryology and andrology procedures, including micromanipulation and embryo/gamete biopsy.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; effective team collaboration.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office and laboratory software systems.
    • Familiar with lab protocols and committed to ongoing professional development.
    • Comfortable using office equipment and managing electronic records.
Compensation & Benefits
    • Salary Rate: $115,000 - $140,000 annually (Final offers based on experience, skills, and qualifications.)
