It is an exciting role that involves solving complex problems to optimize the entire manufacturing process, from start to finish.

The Role

The primary responsibility of the Production Planning and Supply Chain Manager is to plan and coordinate the entire production and supply chain process to ensure production goals are met efficiently and on time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Production Planning: Manage general operations of the Production department, including but not limited to:
    • Perform resource planning and task assignments, monitor daily production progress, and resolve production challenges, constraints or bottlenecks
    • Develop, maintain and manage production schedules based on demand forecasts and available capacity to ensure production targets are met while adhering to quality and safety standards
    • Create, release and manage manufacturing orders within the ERP system based on manufacturing processes and the associated picking and procurement list
    • Manage and maintain data integrity within the ERP system, ensuring all manufacturing, procurement, and inventory records are accurate and up to date
    • Oversee all procurement activities to guarantee timely acquisition and delivery of manufacturing goods and hardware in alignment with production schedules
    • Ensure picking lists are properly generated, maintained, and executed to support efficient kitting operations
    • Manage kitting workflows to guarantee materials and hardware are correctly staged and available when needed according to production schedules
    • Oversee all shipping and receiving functions for accurate and timely material flow between facilities and vendors.
    • Conduct effective day-to-day communications with department managers to resolve outstanding issues in a timely manner
  • Personal Management: including but not limited to:
    • Assess and execute training, development, and career planning
    • Administer continuous performance management
    • Attract, retain and engage workforce
    • Manage timecards, PTO requests, etc. per company policy
    • Collaborate with management and engineering to support manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and pertinent considerations to facilitate production process.
    • Work with Project Management team to support strategic and operations planning.
    • Collaborate with key stakeholders to collect and validate all necessary information for effective production planning and scheduling across the production lifecycle.
    • Manage the flow of work through the manufacturing process.
    • Monitor and report the status of all parts and projects and adjust the production schedule to support company goals.
    • Analyze future orders with respect to capacity planning and maintaining capacity data.
    • Collect and report manufacturing metrics.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred. May be substituted by:
  • Associate's degree and 2 years of relevant experience
  • High School Diploma and 4 years of relevant experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a production planning role
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a manager or leadership role
  • Demonstrates a strong passion for solving complex problems under pressure and a commitment to efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project required
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, ensuring clear and effective collaboration across teams.
