Venture Investment Associate for Family Office

Our client, a lean family office, is looking for a driven and intellectually curious Investment Associate who has a passion for technology and investing to join their dynamic team.
About the Role
As an Associate, you will play a crucial role in the investment process, which includes monitoring and evaluating the portfolio, conducting due diligence on private market opportunities, and developing financial models.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and track performance metrics of portfolio companies and maintain effective communication channels.
- Build and refine financial models while conducting comprehensive market and company research.
- Draft and prepare detailed investment memoranda for potential and existing investments.
- Compile and present data in actionable reports using Excel and PowerPoint.
- Support finance and accounting teams in capital management tasks and the maintenance of investment documentation.
- Contribute strategically to enhance operational efficiencies within the company.
- Foster and maintain relationships with portfolio companies and fund managers.
- Participate in conferences and key meetings, with occasional domestic travel required.
- Engage in various ad hoc data and investment projects.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree from a leading institution, majoring in economics, finance, engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, growth equity, or an equivalent analytical role (banking, corporate strategy, or technology).
Required Skills
- Deep interest in technology and emerging sectors such as Fintech, AI, Crypto, and Deep/Frontier Tech.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas and recommendations effectively.
- Expertise in Excel, financial modeling, and forecasting, along with a solid grasp of Word and PowerPoint.
- Proficient financial research skills with a focus on developing and maintaining quantitative financial models.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities, high attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
- A strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to excellence.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and excel in a fast-paced environment.
- Team-oriented, willing to share knowledge, engage in discussions, and provide support across various investment areas.
- A high level of intellectual curiosity and adaptability to new insights and processes.
- Detail-oriented and quick to learn new systems and workflows.
